These Terms of Use govern your use of the UNIVER VIDEO service. As used in these Terms of Use, the terms “UNIVER VIDEO service,” “our service” or “the service” mean the service provided by UNIVER VIDEO that allows you to discover and watch films and series, including all features and functionality, the website and user interface, as well as all content and software associated with the service.
If you are a resident of the United States (including U.S. possessions and territories), you agree to the Arbitration Agreement and to waive class actions, as described in Section 15, to resolve any disputes with UNIVER VIDEO (except for matters that may be brought before small claims court).

These UNIVER VIDEO Terms of Use, which include the Privacy Policy and End User License Agreement, govern the use of the UNIVER VIDEO service. By accessing, using or browsing the UNIVER VIDEO service, you accept and agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to the Terms of Use, do not use the UNIVER VIDEO service.
The UNIVER VIDEO service is provided by UNIPRO EDITORA LTDA. or one of its affiliated companies. The UNIPRO EDITORA LTDA company providing services to you (referred to as “UNIVER VIDEO” in these Terms of Use) and with which you are entering into this agreement depends on the country where you begin your subscription to the UNIVER VIDEO service.
Changes to the Terms of Use. UNIVER VIDEO may periodically change these Terms of Use, including the Privacy Policy, End User License Agreement and Social Network Terms. These changes will take effect immediately; however, for current subscribers, the changes will take effect 30 days after publication, unless otherwise specified. UNIVER VIDEO will endeavor to publish previous versions of the Terms of Use, if any, published within the last 12 months. Communication preferences. By using the UNIVER VIDEO service, you consent to receive electronic communications from UNIVER VIDEO relating to your account. Communications will include emails sent to the email address provided during registration, notices posted on the UNIVER VIDEO service or on the “My Account” page, and may include account-related notices (payment authorizations, password or payment method changes, confirmations and other transaction-related information). Such communications will form part of your relationship with UNIVER VIDEO. You agree that any notices, agreements, disclosures or other communications sent to you electronically by UNIVER VIDEO satisfy legal communication requirements, including the requirement that such communications be in writing. Keep copies of electronic communications by printing a paper copy or saving an electronic copy. You also agree to receive other communications from UNIVER VIDEO, such as newsletters about new UNIVER VIDEO features and content, special offers, promotions and market research, whether by email or other means of communication. If you no longer wish to receive certain non-transactional communications from UNIVER VIDEO, simply access the “Email Preferences” link on the “Your Account” page of the UNIVER VIDEO website to manage your communication choices. Recurring billing. By starting your UNIVER VIDEO subscription and providing or designating a payment method, you authorize UNIVER VIDEO to charge that payment method an amount equivalent to one month’s subscription at the price current at the time of billing, as well as any other amounts charged in connection with your use of the UNIVER VIDEO service. You agree that the amount charged each month may vary for reasons such as promotional offers, redemption of Prepaid Cards and promotional codes, and/or changes or additions to plans. Price changes. UNIVER VIDEO reserves the right to adjust the prices of the UNIVER VIDEO service, or parts of the service, in any manner, at any time and according to its own exclusive criteria. Except as expressly provided in these Terms of Use, any changes to service prices will take effect upon sending you an email notice. For subscribers in Brazil, subscription prices may be adjusted automatically each year or more frequently, as permitted by applicable law and according to the General Market Price Index (IGP-M) published by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation or another equivalent index applicable to the UNIVER VIDEO service.
Billing cycle. The service subscription fee will be charged at the beginning of your subscription’s paid period and each month thereafter, unless and until you cancel your subscription. UNIVER VIDEO will automatically charge the payment method provided on the day of each month corresponding to the day your paid subscription began. The subscription fee will be fully earned upon payment. UNIVER VIDEO reserves the right to change the billing cycle, particularly if it has not been possible to charge the subscription amount to your payment method. If your paid subscription began on a day that does not occur in a particular month, UNIVER VIDEO will charge your payment method on a day in the applicable month or on another day it considers appropriate. For example, if you began your UNIVER VIDEO subscription or became a paying subscriber on January 31, your next payment date will probably be February 28, and your payment method will be charged on that date. Your subscription renewal date may change due to changes to your subscription. Visit the UNIVER VIDEO website and click “Subscription History” on the “My Account” page to find out the start date of your next subscription period. UNIVER VIDEO may request authorization of your payment method to prepare for collection of the subscription fee or other service-related charges. In the context of these Terms of Use, “billing” means posting a debit, debiting or offsetting the amount to be paid, as applicable, against your payment method. Unless otherwise described, month or monthly refers to your billing cycle.
There will be no refunds. PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, AND THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR PARTIALLY USED SUBSCRIPTION PERIODS. However, after cancellation, you will continue to have access to the service until the end of the current billing period. At any time and for any reason, UNIVER VIDEO may give discounts to some or all of its subscribers. The amount and form of such credits, as well as the decision to issue them, are at UNIVER VIDEO’s sole and absolute discretion. The issuance of credits on one occasion will not entitle you to future credits for similar situations or obligate UNIVER VIDEO to issue credits in the future under any circumstances.
Payment methods. You may edit your payment method details by visiting the UNIVER VIDEO website and clicking “My Account,” the link displayed at the top of every page on the UNIVER VIDEO website. If it is not possible to collect the full amount due from your payment method, whether because of expiration, insufficient funds or another reason, and you do not change your payment method details or cancel your account (see the “Cancel” section below), you will remain responsible for all outstanding uncollected amounts and authorize UNIVER VIDEO to continue charging the payment method, which may be updated. This may change your billing cycle dates. For certain payment methods, the financial institution associated with the payment method may charge fees for international financial transactions or other fees. Please consult the financial institution associated with your payment method for further details.
Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription whenever you wish, and you will continue to have access to the UNIVER VIDEO service until the end of the current billing cycle. UNIVER VIDEO DOES NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR PARTIALLY USED SUBSCRIPTION PERIODS OR FOR UNWATCHED FILMS OR SERIES. To cancel, visit the website’s “My Account” page and follow the cancellation instructions. If you cancel your subscription, your account will automatically close at the end of the current billing period. To see when the account will close, click “Subscription History” in the “My Account” section. If you signed up for UNIVER VIDEO and provided an account held by a third party as your payment method, and you wish to cancel your subscription, you may need to arrange cancellation with the third-party payment method holder and access your account, turn off automatic renewal or cancel your subscription to the UNIVER VIDEO service through that third party. You may also check the billing information for your UNIVER VIDEO subscription with the third parties concerned.
To use UNIVER VIDEO products, the user will pay Univer the amounts in effect at the time of purchasing and/or renting any content, according to the prices and payment methods in effect and published on the website www.univervideo.com, as well as through the applications made available for Android, IOS, Windows 10 and Smart TVs.
If the Customer changes their mind about a rental, purchase or subscription made through Univer, they may exercise their right by notifying Customer Service of their intention within 07 (seven) calendar days from the transaction date.
Once non-access to the content has been established, the subscription may be cancelled, and UNIVER VIDEO will take steps to reimburse the Customer according to the payment method used for the purchase: namely, (i) contacting the credit card administrator within 2 (two) business days so that it can notify the financial institution responsible for the credit (reversal), which may occur within up to two subsequent statements, depending on the credit card statement closing date.
You must be 18 years old or have reached the age of majority in your state, territory or country to subscribe to the UNIVER VIDEO service. Individuals under 18 or the applicable age of majority may use the service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, using the parent’s or guardian’s account and in accordance with these Terms of Use.
The UNIVER VIDEO service and all content viewed through the UNIVER VIDEO service are intended exclusively for personal, non-commercial use. During your UNIVER VIDEO subscription, UNIVER VIDEO grants you a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to access the UNIVER VIDEO service to watch films and series solely through the online streaming service and for that purpose. Except for the limited license described above, no other right, title or interest is granted to you. You agree not to use the service for public screenings.
You may watch a film or series through the UNIVER VIDEO service in the country where you subscribed, as well as in countries where the UNIVER VIDEO service is offered and where UNIVER VIDEO holds licenses for those films, documentaries, children’s cartoons, music videos or series. Available content varies by country. UNIVER VIDEO holds distribution rights for its content throughout Brazil. There may be limitations on content availability, particularly for third-party productions, when attempting to access your account from another country. The same applies to subscriptions made outside Brazil. UNIVER VIDEO uses technologies to verify your geographical location and limit content according to viewing licenses. THE NUMBER OF DEVICES ON WHICH YOU CAN WATCH UNIVER VIDEO CONTENT AT THE SAME TIME IS LIMITED. Access the plan change information on the “My Account” page to see the number of devices on which you can watch UNIVER VIDEO simultaneously. The number of devices available for use and online streams may be changed periodically at UNIVER VIDEO’s discretion.
UNIVER VIDEO continually updates the service, including the content catalog. In addition, different aspects of the service are continually tested, including the website, user interfaces, service levels, plans, promotional features, availability of films and series, streaming and prices. UNIVER VIDEO reserves the right to conduct tests, and by using the service you agree that UNIVER VIDEO may include or exclude you from these tests without prior notice. UNIVER VIDEO reserves the right, exercised entirely at its own discretion, to periodically change, without prior notice, the way the service is offered and operated.
You agree to use the UNIVER VIDEO service, including all its features and functionality, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and codes, as well as other restrictions on the use of the service or content provided therein. You agree not to archive, download (except for caching necessary for personal use), reproduce, distribute, modify, display, publish, license or create derivative works from, offer for sale or use (except in the ways expressly authorized by these Terms of Use) the content and information contained in or obtained from or through the UNIVER VIDEO service without the express written permission of UNIVER VIDEO and its licensors. You also agree not to: circumvent, remove, alter, disable, degrade or tamper with any content protections of the UNIVER VIDEO service; use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access the UNIVER VIDEO service; decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble any software or other products or processes accessible through the UNIVER VIDEO service; insert any code or product; manipulate the content of the UNIVER VIDEO service in any way; or use data mining, data collection or data extraction methods. Furthermore, you agree not to upload, publish, email, communicate or transmit in any manner any material designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any software, hardware or telecommunications equipment associated with the UNIVER VIDEO service, including software viruses, code, files or programs.
The availability of films and series in the catalog will change periodically and from one country to another. The picture quality of films and series may vary from computer to computer and device to device, and may be affected by several factors, including your location, available bandwidth and Internet connection speed. The availability of high definition (HD) and ultra-high definition (Ultra HD) is subject to your Internet service and the functionality of the device used. Not all content is available in HD or Ultra HD, and not all plans allow reception of content in HD or Ultra HD. A minimum download speed of 5.0 Mbps is recommended to receive HD content, defined as 720p resolution or higher. A minimum download speed of 25.0 Mbps is recommended to receive Ultra HD content, defined as resolution higher than 1080p. You are responsible for all Internet access charges. Consult your Internet provider for information about data usage costs. UNIVER VIDEO makes no representations or guarantees regarding the picture quality on your screen. The time it takes to start a film or series may vary according to several factors, including your location, the bandwidth available at that time, the selected film or series and the settings of the UNIVER VIDEO-compatible device used.
UNIVER VIDEO’s online streaming software was developed by or for UNIVER VIDEO and was designed to enable online streaming of UNIVER VIDEO content to UNIVER VIDEO-compatible devices. This software may vary depending on the device and media. Functionality may also vary according to the device used. BY USING THE UNIVER VIDEO SERVICE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE TO OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE, OUR PRIVACY POLICY, AND TO RECEIVE UPDATED VERSIONS OF UNIVER VIDEO SOFTWARE AND ASSOCIATED THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE OR REQUEST. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THE ABOVE TERMS, DO NOT USE THE UNIVER VIDEO SERVICE. UNIVER VIDEO DOES NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR OR GUARANTEE THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE DEVICES, INCLUDING THE DEVICE’S CONTINUED COMPATIBILITY WITH OUR SERVICE. By using the UNIVER VIDEO service, you agree to look exclusively to the entity that manufactured and/or sold you the device to resolve any issues relating to the device and its compatibility with the UNIVER VIDEO service. If your UNIVER VIDEO-compatible device is sold, lost or stolen, deactivate the UNIVER VIDEO-compatible device. If you do not sign out or deactivate the device, other users may access the UNIVER VIDEO service through your account and gain access to certain information in your account. To deactivate a device, follow the instructions on the “My Account” page of the UNIVER VIDEO website.
UNIVER VIDEO may terminate or restrict your use of the service without compensation or prior notice if there is suspicion of (i) a violation of any of these Terms of Use or (ii) involvement in illegal or inappropriate use of the service. No work acquired through the Buy button should disappear from the account for a minimum period of 12 months if such content is not discontinued from the website. Films acquired through the Rent button expire after 48 hours, starting from their first playback (first play).
THE UNIVER VIDEO SERVICE AND ALL ASSOCIATED CONTENT AND SOFTWARE, AS WELL AS ANY OTHER FEATURES OR FUNCTIONALITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE UNIVER VIDEO SERVICE, ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. UNIVER VIDEO MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND THAT YOUR USE OF THE UNIVER VIDEO SERVICE WILL BE CONTINUOUS OR ERROR-FREE. UNIVER VIDEO SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY FOR THE USE OF APPLICATIONS, UNIVER VIDEO-COMPATIBLE DEVICES AND UNIVER VIDEO SOFTWARE (INCLUDING CONTINUED COMPATIBILITY WITH OUR SERVICE).
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL UNIVER VIDEO, ITS SUBSIDIARIES OR THEIR SHAREHOLDERS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE (ON A SECONDARY OR JOINT AND SEVERAL BASIS) TO YOU FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE, OR ANY TYPES OF DAMAGES.
CERTAIN JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN TYPES OF DAMAGES. THEREFORE, CERTAIN LIMITATIONS IN THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
NOTHING IN THESE TERMS SHALL AFFECT ANY LEGAL RIGHT YOU MAY HAVE. If any provision or provisions of these Terms of Use are considered invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Gift cards and promotions. In certain jurisdictions, gift cards for the UNIVER VIDEO service may be offered at specific locations. Gift cards may be redeemed on the UNIVER VIDEO website at univervideo.com. Redemption of gift cards is subject to the Prepaid Card Terms, found on the back of the card and on the website (univervideo.com). Other types of promotional codes may be made available periodically, including as part of third-party promotions. Promotional codes may be redeemed as described in the specific promotion. Gift cards and promotional codes may be used only once, may not be redeemed for cash and may not be combined with other offers, subject to certain restrictions as determined by UNIVER VIDEO at its sole discretion. If you receive a promotional code through an offer from a third party, additional restrictions may apply.
Copyright. The UNIVER VIDEO service, including all content provided through the UNIVER VIDEO service, is protected by copyright, trade secrets and other intellectual property laws and treaties.
Trademarks. UNIVER VIDEO is a registered trademark of UNIPRO EDITORA LTDA. Patents. UNIVER VIDEO holds patents that apply to the UNIVER VIDEO service. If you believe your work has been reproduced or distributed in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, or if you are aware of material that infringes copyright laws through the UNIVER VIDEO service, notify us through our customer service center.
Applicable law. If you are a resident of Brazil, these Terms of Use shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Brazilian law. For all other UNIVER VIDEO subscribers, these Terms of Use shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
You may also be entitled to certain consumer protection rights under the laws of your local jurisdiction.
Use of information provided. UNIVER VIDEO shall be free to use any comments, information, ideas, concepts, opinions, techniques or any other materials contained in any communication you send us, including responses to questionnaires through the UNIVER VIDEO service, including the UNIVER VIDEO website and its user interfaces, on a worldwide and perpetual basis, without compensation, acknowledgment or payment to you for any reason, including but not limited to developing, manufacturing and marketing products and creating, modifying or improving the UNIVER VIDEO service. Furthermore, you agree not to assert any “moral rights,” to the extent permitted by applicable laws. In some cases, the best option for Customer Service is to use a remote access tool that provides full access to your computer. If you do not want us to have this access, do not agree to use the remote access support tool. UNIVER VIDEO will assist you in other ways. In the event of any conflict between these Terms of Use and information provided by Customer Service, these Terms of Use shall prevail.
Validity of provisions. If any provision or provisions of these Terms of Use are considered invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
